Submission Process
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
AARE Special Interest Groups (SIGs) host the conference program streams and SIG Convenors oversee the abstract review process and make decisions about the recommended presentation format for each paper. All submissions should be aligned with the SIG that best meets the focus of the paper.

ABSTRACT REVIEW PROcess
All abstracts for Symposiums are subject to a peer-review process by members of the Association, facilitated by SIG Convenors. The review process is intended to:
- Ensure rigour and quality of research within the conference presentations.
- Support alignment with specific SIGs and the conference theme.
Abstracts will be reviewed using the following criteria:
- Relevance to educational research
- Contribution to particular research field/s
- Clarity of writing and appropriate language use
- Relevance to identified SIG.
The Reviewer will make one of the following decisions:
- Accept as is
- Accept, with editing required for clarity
- Accept, with suggestions for strengthening prior to presentation
- Rejected on basis of not satisfactorily meeting the stated review criteria.
Where there is a discrepancy between the reviewers, the SIG Convenor(s) and Conferences Standing Committee Chair will adjudicate for a final decision.
Considerations around Research Involving Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Peoples
AARE has committed to ensuring that its activities support and/or contribute to the transformative processes of decolonisation, emancipation and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Please ensure you are aware of the potential effects of research on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities by reading the Considerations Around Research Involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples document. Please also consult the AIATSIS Code of Ethics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Research (2020) where relevant.
Withdrawing an abstract
If you want to withdraw an abstract, please contact the Conference Office in writing via email to aare@thinkbusinessevents.com.au. Please note that withdrawals need to be communicated in writing by the author who originally submitted the abstract, and in doing so, the Conference Office assumes that all other authors/presenters have been informed of the withdrawal.
